Growing together.
Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.
The Dragon Program consists of two levels: Little Dragons for beginners and Advanced Dragons for more experienced students, typically ages 6 to 8, including those promoted from the Tiny Tigers program. The Little Dragons curriculum is based on Greg Silva's original work from the 1980s, modified by MAK's experience, and introduces basic self-defense skills, self-respect, responsibility, self-control, and humility. It also emphasizes differentiating between threat and emotion. The Advanced Dragons curriculum builds on the Universal Kenpo system, designed to prepare students for the Black Dragon rank, the highest in the program. Students who reach Black Dragon, after demonstrating self-defense techniques, earn a Black Dragon belt and patch and are placed at the equivalent rank of a Blue-White Belt in the Karate Kids program, skipping their first belt. The program fosters self-discipline, respect, and a focus on the acceptance of failure as part of the journey to success.

Black Belt Training Course (BBTC): BBTC is an enhancement to the Advanced Dragons program, which features a 45-minute class that extends the previous 30-minute sessions. This enhancement focuses on building both confidence and skill by introducing a new theme each cycle, such as nunchucks or sparring. These focused themes are designed to help students refine their technique and deepen their understanding in specific areas, preparing them for the transition into the Karate Kids program. With this additional time and targeted training, students will gain a stronger foundation and be better equipped to handle the more advanced challenges of the Karate Kids curriculum. The BBTC uniform includes white pants and black tops for the Advanced Dragon Class.
